Physiological Monitoring is a solution perfect for both measuring and analysing human biometrical parameters such as heart rate, breathing rate, skin temperature, core temperature, acceleration and inclination.

Monitoring components

It comprises the monitoring unit, communication element, data viewing and an analysis tool. The monitoring belt features a system of sensors and electrodes which connect with the sensor electronics module. It weighs just 75g, is robust and water resistant. The monitoring unit processes the wearer's vital signs and transmits them via a Class 1 Bluetooth interface. It can be worn under work clothing, uniforms and business suits. The system is medically proved and delivers noise-free, live physiological data. (See the picture on the right)

Application options

Utilising the technological abilities of the physiological monitoring device and observations from our field research, we have developed analytical processes that:

  · Can determine whether a person or group of people have been subjected to a stressful situation based upon the activities undertaken during normal working conditions
  · Can assess a team or individual person's ability to perform to a required standard whilst operating in a stressful environment, including tasks within a natural working and training situation
  · Can determine suitability of equipment for individual usage and ascertain personal capacities when testing a variety of protective equipment

Physiological data analysis

We analyse physiological data with our data mining workbench tool Authority Miner®, in which specialised processes are configured to provide relevant information about stress and discomforts. This analysis can be customised to suit an organisation/department's requirements and even personalised for individual consumption.

Benefits

  · Individual and Department Monitoring
Individuals and organisational departments can be monitored meaning that norms can be assessed with indicators automatically generated for instances of stress.
  · Preventing Absences from work and contributing to the productivity
Even when a person does not feel under stress, the physiology can give an advanced warning to prevent absences from work.

  · Improving personnel Duty of Care programmes inside Occupational Health Departments, Staff Associations and Specialist Departments
  · Enhancing current health and wellbeing campaigns for employees
  · Improving approach and extend stress management awareness
  · Enabling managers to take positive preventive action
  · Helping to ensure employees' long-term health
  · Promoting your company as a great place to work
  · Helping people get back to work after illness by recognising and adapting to any limits in their capabilities

Equipment

The illustration shows the Equivital monitor and demonstrates how it is worn in conjunction with its belt. The belt's shoulder strap (A) is particularly useful as it assists in retaining the actual monitor (B) in the correct position on the chest (C). The retaining belts are slim and pliable ensuring that the entire device can be worn comfortably for long periods of time. Having the belt sized correctly to the wearer is important.
